Privacy Policy

1. Scope and operator

This policy applies to the web calculators at calc.emceasy.net. EMCEasy currently requires no account and does not provide advertising profiles or cross-site tracking.

Use the contact email shown on this page and in the footer to exercise data rights, raise a privacy concern, or make a complaint.

2. Data we process

• Calculation data: frequencies, material properties, dimensions, and results are used only inside your browser. The site does not intentionally upload them or create a server-side calculation profile.
• Audience analytics: the site uses a self-hosted Umami instance at stats.emceasy.net. It may process the page path and title, referrer, language, screen size, browser, operating system, device type, coarse country or region, and page performance. The tracker uses no cookies and creates no cross-site advertising profile.
• Event analytics: we may record events such as opening a calculator or submitting the feedback form, together with a calculator identifier or feedback category. Inputs, results, feedback text, email addresses, URL query strings, and URL fragments are not sent to Umami.
• Server logs: web servers, reverse proxies, and network infrastructure may record request time, requested address, IP address, User-Agent, and response status for security, fault diagnosis, and abuse prevention.
• Feedback email: the feedback button only opens your email application. Your address, message, and the current page listed in the email reach us only if you choose to send it through your email provider.

3. Purposes and minimization

We use this data only to serve pages, understand aggregate usage, improve high-value features, monitor performance, protect the service, answer feedback, and correct engineering content. We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party advertising.

We process only what is reasonably needed for these purposes. Data that is no longer needed is deleted, anonymized, or removed through log rotation.

4. Retention, disclosure, and location

Analytics and operational logs are retained for the shortest period reasonably needed for trend analysis, security investigation, and backups, with necessity reviewed periodically. Backups and log rotation may cause a reasonable technical delay. Feedback email is retained as needed to answer, correct, and document maintenance work.

Data is primarily processed on infrastructure owned or controlled by the site. Hosting, DNS, network relay, certificate, and email providers may handle technical data only as needed to deliver their services. We do not intentionally disclose it to data brokers or ad platforms.

Internet infrastructure and the email provider you choose may operate in different regions. Do not include unrelated personal data, trade secrets, or restricted information in feedback.

5. Your choices and rights

• Use the Audience analytics setting below to disable or re-enable Umami in this browser. The site also honors the browser Do Not Track signal.
• You may ask what data we hold about you and request access, correction, deletion, or restriction, or withdraw a related choice. Because analytics requires no login and carries no direct identity, we may be unable to reliably link anonymous records to a particular person.
• You may make a complaint or correction request at any time. We may need to verify the relationship between the requester and the relevant data before acting.

6. Security and children

We use HTTPS, access controls, least privilege, system updates, and backups to reduce risk, but no online service can promise absolute security.

This is an engineering service and is not directed to children under 14. Do not submit a child’s personal information through the feedback channel.

7. Policy updates

If the analytics capability, data flow, or applicable requirements change materially, we will update this page and its effective date. Material changes will be highlighted where reasonably practical.
